Training and Internships

South Shore Family Health Collaborative, LLC, (SSFHC) has been constructed to train graduate students in family therapy, social work, mental health counselor and rehabilitation counseling. The office itself is equipped with a viewing room from which to observe family and play therapy sessions. Videotaping is encouraged as an aid to therapy and learning. The staff at SSFHC has extensive supervisory experience in training family therapists, social workers, and rehabilitation counselors, and is credentialed to provide supervision in these respective disciplines. Graduate students at area colleges and universities in their final year of training are encouraged to apply for internships.

In addition to bi-weekly group supervision sessions in family therapy, trainings in specific areas of interest to community therapists and graduate students will be conducted.

- Ethics, Disability and Therapy Training (pdf)
- Working with Families with Disabilities
- Play Therapy with Children under Five
- Expanding the Role of Ticket to Work/Employment Networks in Rehabilitation Counseling
- Working with Intercultural and Inter-Racial families

Soon a full description of these and other ongoing trainings will be available on this website. These sessions will be short (about two hours), informal, and may include observation of work with families and children.
